Sourced from two blocks of Shiraz on the western side of our Rayner Vineyard, where the soils are clay on limestone. Plantings date back to 1950. Fermented using 100% whole bunches and wild yeast, inspired by our time in the Northern Rhone. 90 dozen bottles made.

“From the lauded Rayner vineyard; two plots, each on the Seaview side. 100% whole bunches, with acute attention to the lignification of the stems imparting sweetness and a gentle structural caress. Very good. Northern Rhône glimpsed. Any sweet fruit, mercifully, knocked out by soaring aromas of violet, licorice, dried nori, ground clove and mace. Smoked meat aplenty. Some purple pastille and cherry emerge from the fray, but this is compact and taut, as much as it is jubey and generous. Lovely wine.” - Ned Goodwin MW
